  1. Broomfield Symphony Orchestra presents "A Night In Vienna"

    May 16, 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM @ Broomfield Auditorium

    The final concert of our 2012-2013 will transport you to a Night of waltzes, polkas, and songs from Vienna. The concert will also feature the musical talents of our Youth Concerto Competition winners Eloise Hodges, violin, and Andrew Peeples, cello, along with guest vocalist Lee Ann Scherlong, all conducted by Broomfield Symphony Music Director David Brussel. Tickets available online, at the door, or at the Broomfield Auditorium Box Office.

  1. Children's - One Book 4 Colorado

    May 16, All Day @ Children's Library

    Mamie Doud Eisenhower Public Library is promoting early reading by providing a free new book to every four-year-old in Broomfield as part of the statewide One Book 4 Colorado. One Book 4 Colorado is a statewide initiative aiming to support family reading at home and instill a love of learning in Colorado youngsters. Most books for four-year olds in Broomfield are being distributed at local preschools and daycares. Families of four-year-olds who do not receive their book at preschool or daycare can stop by the Library any day between May 6 – 20 to pick up a copy of the book in either English or Spanish. One Book 4 Colorado is the result of collaboration between Reach Out and Read Colorado, Colorado State Library, public libraries, the private sector, and the foundation community. Enjoy age appropriate books, songs, rhymes and baby sign language -- all intended to promote language development and early literacy in a lively and fun atmosphere! Facts on brain development, early literacy and social emotional growth are shared throughout the program. Includes time for adults to socialize and babies to play. No registration required. This program is repeated on Thursdays, 10:00 a.m. - 10:20 a.m.

    All are welcome at our family Story Time! This program features participatory stories, songs and movement activities geared towards promoting early literacy and building a foundation for a love of books. Age appropriate activities are presented in 3 segments from younger to older in order to meet the developmental needs of babies, toddlers and preschoolers. Transitions are built into the program so younger children can take a break if necessary. Join us for a wonderful shared experience for the whole family! No registration required.

    Preschoolers enjoy stories and songs that develop early literacy skills and foster curiosity. This program is reserved for children ages 3 - 5 who can sit on their own and comfortably participate in a variety of literature based activities geared towards preparing children for learning to read. Asking children to attend without their caregivers helps to develop a sense of independence that will be needed as they start school. No registration required.Stop at the Children's Desk for a name tag and a ticket. This program is repeated on Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
