  1. Children - "Reading With Ringling"

    September 26, All Day @ Children's Library

    The Children’s Library presents a back-to-school reading program “Reading with Ringling”! Visit the library in September and pick up a Ringling Rewards Club Card for children ages 2 – 12 years. Just read any 5 books of your choice and return the card to the library to be stamped. Ringling Rewards Club Cards can be exchanged in advance at the circus box office for a FREE circus ticket. One adult ticket must be purchased for every three FREE kids’ tickets redeemed. See library for more details. Stop in now – program runs from September 1 - September 30, supplies are limited and the circus comes to town in October.   2. Children - Fancy Nancy Grows Up

    Fancy Nancy Clancy Grows Up! As part of the BIG LIBRARY READ program, we will be featuring Nancy Clancy, Super Sleuth in both downloadable eBook and audio book formats from September 16th – 30th. During this two-week period, this book from the Nancy Clancy series will be available for every patron that wishes to read it - no holds, no waitlists. Just go to the Downloadable Collections page on our Library’s website starting Sept.16th to download your copy.

  3. Children - Baby Story Time

    September 26, 9:15 AM - 9:35 AM @ Children's Story Room

    For children newborn - 24 months and a caregiver. An interactive story time focusing on the three "Rs" - Rhythm, Rhyme and Repetition. Enjoy age appropriate books, songs, rhymes and baby sign language -- all intended to promote language development and early literacy in a lively and fun atmosphere! Facts on brain development, early literacy and social emotional growth are shared throughout the program. Includes time for adults to socialize and babies to play. No registration required. This program is repeated on Thursdays, 10:00 a.m. - 10:20 a.m.

  5. Children - Family Story Time

    September 26, 10:45 AM - 11:15 AM @ Children's Library Story Room

    All are welcome at our family Story Time! This program features participatory stories, songs and movement activities geared towards promoting early literacy and building a foundation for a love of books. Age appropriate activities are presented in 3 segments from younger to older in order to meet the developmental needs of babies, toddlers and preschoolers. Transitions are built into the program so younger children can take a break if necessary. Join us for a wonderful shared experience for the whole family! No registration required.

  6. Children - Preschool Story Time

    September 26, 1:30 PM - 2:00 PM @ Children's Library Story Room

    Preschoolers enjoy stories and songs that develop early literacy skills and foster curiosity. This program is reserved for children ages 3 - 5 who can sit on their own and comfortably participate in a variety of literature based activities geared towards preparing children for learning to read. Asking children to attend without their caregivers helps to develop a sense of independence that will be needed as they start school. No registration required.Stop at the Children's Desk for a name tag and a ticket. This program is repeated on Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

  7. Children - ARF- Afternoon Reading Fun

    September 26, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

    READ TO A DOG! Students in Kindergarten to Grade 5 build confidence and fluency in their reading by reading aloud to a trained therapy dog! Bring your own book or choose a library book and Sassy or Leo will listen without correcting or judging. Sign-in begins at 3:45 at the Children's Desk.

  8. Adult- Colorado Coalfield Wars

    September 26, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ 3 Community Park Rd

    Learn about Colorado's long and sorted history in the coal industry. Presented by Dean Saitta, Professor of Anthropology and Chair of the Department of Anthropology at the University of Denver.
