Snow update 5 p.m. - crews work through night
Broomfield street crews are still on 12-hour shifts through Saturday and into Sunday, if needed. They will continue to clear main streets and work on cleaning up problem areas as necessary. Motorists are still encouraged to use caution and limit travel as much as possible.

Saturday Recreation cancellations
On Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, all Youth Basketball and Little Dribblers practice, games and pictures have been cancelled.

Keep natural gas meters clear of snow
Xcel Energy recommends especially with today's heavy snowfall to keep meters free of ice and snow to prevent the potential for a dangerous natural gas pressure buildup in their homes.

Wondering about streets when it snows?
Broomfield follows its Snow and Ice Control policies when snows come. Public Works crews monitor the National Weather Service forecasts, and when snow is predicted, crews go on standby. Depending on the severity of the storm, crews can be at work during their regular shifts, or are called to 24/7 duty in 12-hour shifts.

"BPD - Inside" Academy
The Broomfield Police Department is offering "BPD - Inside" Academy, a series of three separate informational classes. Registration deadline is Feb. 15, 2012.

Broomfield Mayor Pat Quinn will host meetings on Feb. 9 and 11, 2012 to share information and receive feedback on several area future transportation projects that will affect Broomfield residents and businesses.
