Boulder Broomfield Regional Consortium
Consortium
In September 2008, Broomfield was awarded status as a Community Development Block Grant entitlement community by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  This status allows Broomfield to receive a yearly allocation of funding for housing and community development programs that primarily benefit persons of low and moderate income.  Broomfield also receives federal HOME Investment Partnership funds through its participation in the Boulder Broomfield Regional Consortium.  To receive funds, each entitlement community must prepare a Consolidated Plan consisting of a market analysis, a needs assessment, a strategic plan for addressing needs, and an annual action plan for the use of the funds.  The Consortium communities worked together to create a five-year Consolidated Plan.

The Boulder-Broomfield HOME Consortium is currently preparing the 2015-2019 Consolidated Plan to be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The purpose of the Consolidated Plan is to identify and assess local housing and community development needs, and to develop goals and strategies aimed at addressing these needs. The Consolidated Plan also identifies how federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds and HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) dollars will be expended to benefit the region.

The public is encouraged to review and comment on the draft Consolidated Plan during a public comment period from Dec. 19, 2014, through Jan. 30, 2015.

The plan can be reviewed at https://bouldercolorado.gov/links/fetch/16743  Following review, please provide comments by using the survey tool at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BBConsortium.

Your comments are also requested for Broomfield's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) portion.  You can review Broomfield's CDBG portion here.
