Plan Review Fee

A plan review fee is charged for commercial projects and new single family homes, calculated at 65% of the general building permit fee that shall be paid at the time of permit issuance.

Depending on the scope of the project, separate plan review fees for electrical, plumbing and mechanical plans may be assessed in the same manner (65% of the electrical, plumbing, or mechanical permit fee calculated above).

Other Collections
  • Use Tax and SEF are also collected, see page two of the fee schedule.
  • Water and sewer license fees

Fee Increases
Sewer Licenses
The Broomfield City Council passed an ordinance that will increase the sewer license fees. The new sewer license fee will be $12,559 per ERU. This will apply to sewer license fees for all new single family, townhouse, commercial and multi-family projects. This increase will be effective for all permits issued beginning Feb. 1, 2013.

The Council also added in a grandfather clause which states that if a complete permit application is received by Feb, 1, 2013 and permit is picked up by June 30, 2013 the current sewer license fee of $8,427 will be accepted.

Water Meters
Effective January 1, 2013, water meter costs will also be increasing (with no grandfather clause). The new fees are shown on the last page of the fee schedule.

Water and Sewer License Fees
Water and sewer license fees are determined based on the anticipated annual water usage. Separate fees are charged for the actual tap and for the meter.  Please see page three of the fee schedule.

Feel free to call 303.438.6370 or fax 303.438.6207 for an estimate.

Please note that various fees change periodically.

To insure the most accurate estimate, please contact the Building Division for updated information.

At this time, we can only accept checks or cash for payment of fees.
