Prescription Drug Take-Back Event

Saturday, September 26     10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Norman Smith Service Center
3001 W. 124 Ave. (just east of Lowell Boulevard)

No appointment is necessary.

Pill bottlesIt is not safe to flush prescription drugs down the toilet or throw them in the household trash.  Broomfield's Environmental Services Division and Police Department are partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration in its Prescription Drug Take-Back Program.

Please bring unused, unwanted, or expired prescription drugs (liquid or solid-dosage) for safe disposal—no questions asked. Drugs may be in original containers.

Intravenous solutions, injectables, chemotherapy drugs, and needles will NOT be accepted. Illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamine are not a part of this initiative.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day (Broomfield residents only)

Environmental Services provides this program for residents to dispose of household hazardous waste (HHW) and electronic Pesticideswaste FREE of charge. The next event is scheduled for Saturday, October 3.

This event is by appointment only. Staff will begin making appointments in mid-August 2015.

Contact Environmental Services at 303.438.6329 or email Public Works for specific HHW questions, or refer to this list of acceptable items. As always, Broomfield residents can dispose of HHW year-round, at no charge, at the Boulder Hazardous Materials Management Facility. Please note that the Boulder facility does not accept electronic waste. Check with big-box electronics/office supply retailers to see if they offer a recycling program for e-waste.

Celebrate "America Recycles Day" at the Broomfield Recycling Center! Make holiday gifts and other items from used materials. Bring that Halloween jack-o-lantern for a kids' pumpkin toss! Broomfield Environmental Services staff will be on hand to answer your questions about recycling. 

Free refreshments will be provided.
