Information regarding animal tracks
The Colorado Parks and Wildlife recommends the following if you should encounter a mountain lion:

  • Stay calm, don't approach it, don't turn and run, face it, stand upright, make yourself look big and back away very slowly, throw sticks rocks or other objects at the mountain lion, keep yelling to make it feel threatened.
  • If you are attacked, fight back, stay on your feet, face the animal. If you fall, get back up.
  • Keep all pets on leash as they are seen as prey to the mountain lion.
