What materials are accepted at the Center? Keep this list of items accepted for recycling handy for reference.
Broomfield continues to evaluate methods to reduce operational cost and protect the environment at the Broomfield Recycling and Education Center. To simplify recycling operations at the center, there are only five bins to use for your recyclables. The bins, from east to west, will be designated as follows:
  • office paper (please, no shredded paper)
  • newspaper
  • all other recyclables (two side-by-side bins labeled "All Other Recyclables" are available for commingled materials)
  • cardboard
The list of acceptable commingled items provides more details about what materials will go into the "all other recyclables" bin. Textiles, books (hardbound, paperback, computer manuals, office manuals), and shoes (must be in pairs) can also be dropped in smaller bins located at the west end of the building.

A fewer number of containers means a cleaner and less congested site when you drop off materials. The use of two compactors will reduce the amount of hauls needed by one-third and reduce the carbon footprint to protect the environment. Broomfield continues to be committed to provide excellent services for our community.
