Broomfield Days 2013 is
Broomfield’s 2nd Annual “Day of Play”
by the Proclamation of Mayor Patrick Quinn.
WHEREAS, a community is only as good as the people who inhabit it; and
WHEREAS, the City and County of Broomfield takes pride in the quality of life it has established for its residents and visitors, which includes an understanding of the crucial role of leisure and play time; and
WHEREAS, residents in the City and County of Broomfield continually show their support for the idea that play spaces and playgrounds within walking distance of their homes are a.m.enities of great value; and
WHEREAS, the City and County of Broomfield sponsors many active programs and events to encourage physical activity; and
WHEREAS, the City and County of Broomfield values unstructured, unplanned, spontaneous and self-motivated play for its children and adults; and
WHEREAS, Broomfield encourages residents and visitors to spend time outside at parks, playgrounds and on trails, to maintain healthy lifestyles and fight the negative impacts of a sedentary lifestyle; and
WHEREAS, the City and County of Broomfield has been recognized as a Playful City USA (by KaBOOM!) in recognition of its active population and activities for young and old alike; and
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Patrick Quinn, Mayor of the City and County of Broomfield, do hereby declare and proclaim Broomfield Days as Broomfield’s Annual Day of Play.
And I do further encourage all Broomfield residents to celebrate Play Days by continuing to support and encourage play spaces, playgrounds and trails in Broomfield, and to make daily use of these amenities to stay healthy and active.
About Broomfield Days
Broomfield Days begins on Friday, September 20 with a Golf tournament, concert and Bingo games - being held on Saturday, September 21. This day is packed with activities including a 5K race, a clown contest, a parade, a trade fair, a craft festival, food booths, three stages of entertainment, demonstrations, and great community spirit. This is an opportunity for local organizations to raise money. If you would like information about getting involved in this event, call the Community Center at 303.464.5500.
