Kids Summer Fun!
Keep the whole family active during those busy summer months! While parents work out kids can join in the fun in the gym, party room, and the pool. The beginning of each session starts with activities in the gym, crafts, or games and the last hour is spent swimming with the supervisors. Must be able to swim one length of the pool. Kids need to bring a swimsuit and towel each day!

Youth Dance: Taps ‘N Toes
This class is designed for dancers who want to learn to dance tap, ballet, and jazz. We dance to Disney-type classics, fun oldies, and cute jazz numbers. The last class is a show to perform all of the numbers for parents and grandparents. Class meets in the fitness room. Remember, dance is for everyone!!
How To Register?

Registration for all dance classes is easy. Late registrations are welcome. Just come to the first class and register at that time. No dancer is turned away! Questions are answered at the first class before the tuition is collected. Sorry, no refunds or discounts for missed classes. Please make checks payable to Taps ‘N Toes.
What To Wear?
Comfortable clothing including dance attire, sweats, or shorts. Shoes can be ballet slippers, jazz shoes, or even tennis shoes will do. There are NO additional registration fees or costume costs.

Intro to Shakespeare
Come learn more about the Bard in this fun and challenging class! Using various scenes from Shakespeare’s most notable works, students will learn to explore, speak and perform the words of one of the greatest writers of all time. This introductory course is great for students who have dabbled in Shakespeare and for those who have never even heard of him! Come learn to perform the language of some of the greatest plays ever written! There will be a presentation at BCC on the last day of class.

Clowning Around
Calling all silly actors! Come explore physical acting as students learn to play with their movements, facial expressions and big reactions–just like a clown! Students learn performance fundamentals while having fun! This class is a great outlet for the energetic and goofy actor, as well as a fun confidence builder for those a little more shy. There will be a presentation at BCC on the last day of class.

Improvisational Acting: Pride and Prejudice
Come try this new and exciting improv class! Using long-form improvisational acting techniques, students will work together to create a unique version of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. With this well-known story as a guide, students will create their own, improvised play that May take them in totally expected, or completely surprising directions. The sky is the limit! There will be a presentation at BCC on the last day of class.

Audition Technique

There will be a presentation at BCC on the last day of class.

Make Believe and Beyond Classes
Students will develop the basics of acting through theatre exercises and developing an improvised script of these classic stories to perform for family and friends. Minimal memorization is required because the students are helping to create the plot line and what the characters will say in the play. These beginning theatre classes will help to build strong and confident performers. They are sure to be full of fun and adventure! The $25 performance fee is due on the first day of class to the instructor. Memorization of lines is required. Costumes will be provided. The final day of each class, the dress rehearsal will be held at the Broomfield Auditorium with a performance following at 6 p.m.. An additional $25.00 performance fee is due on the first day of class. Students should register for the grade they will be entering in Fall 2014.

Performance Exploration for 2nd-4th Graders
We are introducing a new age grouping to serve as a bridge between our Make Believe and Beyond and Performance Workshop classes. Students will develop fundamentals of acting through theatre exercises and rehearsing a scripted piece (a condensed version of one of our Performance Workshop scripts) for a final performance for family and friends. Memorization of lines is required. The $25 performance fee is due on the first day of class to the instructor.

Enter Stage Write

Youth Taekwondo  
This class is open to all students, white through black belt for students under 12 years old, and any level, white through black belt. It is specifically oriented for the younger crowd and is less strenuous. This class develops Taekwondo techniques in a manner and pace suitable for kids. Jump Bunch
Jump Bunch introduces sports and fitness to your child in a hands-on setting. The program utilizes a different sport or activity each class. Jump Bunch builds coordination and interest in sports in a safe, non competitive environment. It also fosters a positive attitude so that children are eager to try new activities. Young students are so eager to learn and a joy to teach. Parents, relatives and friends join us on launch day to see the great artwork, paint designs and help us count down! We will explore the topic of space while working in three different artistic media! We will draw space ships and aliens using color pencils, learn cartoon techniques for our aliens and their ships using Sharpies™ and markers, and then complete one large space piece using pastels. Discover the charms of Young Rembrandts’ Enchanted Academy Summer Art Workshop. Be prepared to be whisked away to an enchanted academy where nothing is as it seems. Experience the majesty of the great dining hall as our students illustrate a beautiful graphic. Amuse yourself in the not-so-ordinary life of the academy with a plethora of cartoon drawings, from drawing an enchanted forest to a day at the races with dragons. The final of day of the Enchanted Academy Workshop will introduce our students to pastel chalks as they create a whimsical drawing of a phoenix. No prior experience is needed. African Safari Workshop
We will explore the exciting land and many animals that inhabit Africa. In five days we will draw a variety of animals in various scenes with different media. To keep things exciting, we will explore the African Safari through the fun technique of cartoon as well. We will even challenge our artistic talents by creating two large scenes; one in a graphic style filled with a variety of animals and another focusing on the twists and turns of a African snake completed with pastel chalks. Worldly Artistic Design Pastel Workshop
Young Rembrandts offers a beautiful five-day chalk pastel drawing class! Explore multicultural art in our Worldly Artistic Designs workshop. We begin our world tour in Mexico as we draw several welcoming, colorful doorways. Next, we journey to Africa and explore the design intricacies of African crafts. We’ll move on to design Paisley patterns, an ancient design embraced by many cultures. Then, Asian paper lanterns will shed light on the Far Eastern design styles. Our travels end in Russia as we illustrate a mainstay of Russian architecture; the onion dome. These classes will be messy fun, so dress appropriately.  Age: 6–12 years  Location: BCC

Cars Of The Speedway Workshop
Be prepared to experience the thrills of the motor speedway as we illustrate a variety of racing scenes over the course of three days. The final day of our workshop will introduce our students to pastel chalks as they create a dynamic scene of a race car in motion. No experience is necessary. Rock Out! Workshop
For every child who dreams of partying like a rock star, YR offers Rock Out! During the opening act, students will draw stylized instruments. And the party never seems to end as we illustrate close-up portraits of rock stars on the second day. Then it’s time for a change of tune as we create rock-inspired cartoons on the third day. Rocking-out musicians will be the headlining act on the fourth day. And finally, it’s time to hit the stage as we draw an awesome concert scene to close out our last day of class. We will explore the topic of space while working in three different media. Day 1,we draw space ships and aliens while completing our drawing with color pencils. Superhero Cartoon Workshop

Robotics FFL Team Prep (Mindstorms NXT + EV3)
Build a bot, learn programming, and learn what a Robotics competition team does, as we explore in teams a previous year’s challenge from FIRST LEGO League.  We will work with computers, Mindstorms NXT kits, and work in teams of 3–4 kids per robot to solve programming our robot to move around obstacles and/or pick up and deliver items.  We will also explore the themed project research and innovative solution portion of the competition.  The last day of camp will be a competition robot game, and a presentation of our research presentations.
