MUNICIPAL APPEAL INFORMATION
In order to appeal, the Defendant must, within 35 days of the date of trial, file a written Notice of Appeal and pay the filing fee to the Broomfield District Court and comply with the following in the Broomfield Municipal Court:
1. A written Notice of Appeal which must include, but is not limited to,a designation of record. This must also be served upon the City Attorney and proof of such service must be submitted to the Broomfield Municipal Court.
2.You may be required to post an Appeal Bond in the amount of the fines and costs.If a jail sentence, suspended jail sentence, or no fine was imposed, the Judge will set the amount of the appeal bond.
3.After filing the Notice and Designation of Record you must prepare the Transcript Request form. You must file the original transcript with the court after it has been completed.
THE DEFENDANT ALSO HAS THE OBLIGATION TO SUBMIT AND PERFECT THE APPEAL IN THE DISTRICT COURT
Appeals must follow State Statues and Colorado Rules of Criminal Procedure, Rule 37, and Colorado Municipal Court Rules of Procedure Rule 237 (b).
The burden of notifying the Department of Motor Vehicles that an appeal has been filed is on the defendant/defendant’s attorney. The Court notifies the Department of Motor Vehicles of any conviction.

THE BURDEN IS ON THE DEFENDANT TO PROCEED WITH THE APPEAL.
