The Teen Zone offers volunteering opportunities for teens and adults.  See below for requirements, applications, and assignment details.

Teen Advisory Board (TAB) - teens only
*TAB is closed to new members until further notice Requirements: 
- 6th - 12th grade student
- resident of Colorado
- available to attend meetings on every 1st & 3rd Monday of each month (unless otherwise noted)

Middle school and high school students are invited to join the Teen Advisory Board. TAB works with library staff to plan and run monthly teen programs and the summer reading program. TAB also makes recommendations for books, music, and movies for the library to purchase.  TAB also assists in producing the Teen Zone Newsletter, The 411.

Meetings are on the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month at 4 p.m. in the Eisenhower Room (2nd floor). TAB also counts as volunteer hours for community service.

Application: To join, stop by the Teen Zone desk and pick up an application form.


Volunteering - teens only
Requirements:
- 8th - 12th grade student
- resident of Broomfield County or currently attending a school in Broomfield County
- fluent in the English language
- available for a two hour block on a weekday evening, usually 5 p.m.-7 p.m.

Volunteers are usually assigned a two-hour shift per week. Assignments include general office work such as photocopying, filing, labeling books or other special projects.

To apply, please print and fill out the Teen Volunteer Form and the City and County Volunteer Disclosure Form. Applications can be dropped off at the Teen Zone Desk and a staff member will contact you.  For more information, contact the Manager of Young Adult Services, Fran Jenner, at 720-887-2366.



Discovery Lab - teens and adults
Requirements:
- teens in grade 10 or higher (must be a resident of Broomfield County or currently attending a school in Broomfield county)
- adults ages 18+ (resident of Colorado)
- available on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 3:30-5:30 p.m.

Volunteers will work with a staff member to support drop-in sessions that are offered to students ages 9-18. Volunteers will offer directional support as well as assist with the activities designed by staff.  Planning of activities is encouraged as is a background in science, technology, engineering, and math.

Boost Your Brain: Science and Math Tutoring - adults only

Requirements:
- adults ages 18+
- resident of Colorado
- background in math or science
- available on Tuesdays from 4:30-6:45 p.m.

Volunteers wishing to be tutors for Boost Your Brain: Science and Math Tutoring on Tuesdays from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. should look at the qualifications, descriptions, and requirements list.

Application:
To apply please fill out an City and County Volunteer Disclosure Form. Bring this form in along with your resume and photo id. Background checks and interviews will be conducted before assignment.



Science Task Force - adults only
Requirements:
- adults ages 18+
- resident of Colorado
- background in science, technology, engineering and/or math

Adults wishing to serve on the Science Task Force should look at the qualifications, descriptions, and requirements list.
