Solicitor's License

Broomfield Municipal Code - Chapter 5-20

Description


Any person going door-to-door within the City and County of Broomfield to take orders or to sell anything of value is required to obtain a Solicitor's License, per Broomfield Municipal Code (BMC).

Fees


• New license - $17, valid for one year

Application and Procedure


Take the completed Solicitor's License Application to the City Clerk's office where a copy of your photo ID will be made, your photo taken for the solicitor's badge and the fees collected. Applications are taken Monday - Thursday between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.

Fingerprints and a background check are required for a solicitor's badge. Call the Broomfield Police Dept. at 303-464-5722 to make an appointment or to inquire about fingerprintingTake the completed solicitor's license application and receipt for payment to your fingerprinting appointment. 
 
Fingerprinting is done by the Police Department on the following days and times: 
     Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 
     Monday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
     Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon
Note: There is no charge for fingerprinting at the Broomfield Police Dept., this is included in your license fee. Walk-ins may be accommodated if appointment slots are available.

Return your application and fingerprint card to the City Clerk's Office. The Police Department will conduct a background check, which takes approximately 2-3 weeks, but can take longer.

Following approval the City Clerk's Office will contact the applicant to pick up the solicitor's badge. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the City Clerk's office at 303.438.6332.

Remember there is no solicitation before 9:00 am or after 6:00 pm. No solicitation on Sundays or Holidays.
